Why nothing you buy is lost
Everything you pay for is delivered to you. Every rule in this section comes from that principle: what was paid for is never lost, and nothing is charged twice. When a rule looks odd at first — why does this lapse and that one not? — the answer is almost always what was paid for, and for how long.
Three different things, with three time limits
Section titled “Three different things, with three time limits”What your account holds comes from three places, and each has its own time limit:
| What | Paid for by | Lasts | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| The plan’s quota — the signatures and AI reviews the plan includes | time: a month or a year | until the end of the paid period, plus 10 days | you paid for a period; the quota belongs to that period |
| Packs and single-unit purchases — Pack Assina+, Pack Assina IA, loose units | units | 12 months from purchase, with or without a plan | you paid for units, not for time |
| Capacities — users, storage, templates | the plan | while the plan grants them | they are not spent: they are the room you are using |
The plan’s quota and packs are spent one unit at a time: they are consumables. Capacities are not spent — a user is still a user next month — so they never lapse mid-way and are not reset on renewal.
Credits — the euro balance you top up to buy packs — are not part of any of this. They are money held in your account, and the balance has no expiry date.
The 10 days
Section titled “The 10 days”When the paid period ends, the plan’s quota does not vanish that minute. It stays usable for another 10 days. That is how long Stripe spends retrying a renewal that failed — an expired card, a limit reached. Without that margin, a payment that goes through on day three would leave the organisation blocked for three days over a problem that was not its own.
The 10 days only exist on plans billed through Stripe. A plan with no billed period — the free plan, a plan assigned by AssinaJá, a 100 % discounted plan — has no end date for its quota.
The 12 months of a pack
Section titled “The 12 months of a pack”Each purchase of a consumable is a lot with its own date: it lasts 12 months from the day you bought it. Two packs bought in different months lapse in different months.
A pack does not depend on the plan. If the plan ends, packs keep being spent pay-as-you-go, each until its own date.
A pack bought before 29 September 2026 lasts until 29 September 2027.
What lapses first is spent first
Section titled “What lapses first is spent first”When you send a document, signatures come from the part that lapses soonest: usually the plan’s quota, then packs, oldest first. You never spend a pack while plan quota is about to be lost.
A send is never half-debited. Either the balance covers every zone in the document, or nothing is debited and nobody is invited.
Seeing where your balance comes from
Section titled “Seeing where your balance comes from”In Store → Subscription, under Resource Usage, each consumable shows below its bar where what you have left comes from, one line per source:
| Line | What it is |
|---|---|
| “From the plan: {n} (valid until {date})” | the current period’s quota, with the end of the 10 days |
| “From the plan: {n} (does not expire)” | the quota of a plan with no billed period |
| “Purchased pack: {n} (valid until {date})” | a purchased lot |
| “Left from the previous plan: {n} (valid until {date})” | what remained of the plan you switched from — see Changing plan |
| “Plan quota lapsed on {date} — renew the plan or buy a pack” | the plan’s quota no longer counts |
The archive
Section titled “The archive”The documents you sent can be downloaded while the organisation is active, and for another 60 days after the later of two dates: the end of the plan, and the end of the last pack you bought. Whoever keeps sending with packs keeps being able to download everything they sent.
Whoever signed one of your documents can always download their copy. That window belongs to your organisation, not to your signers. See The archive after the end.
We do not give resources back
Section titled “We do not give resources back”What you bought is yours, and it is delivered — but it does not go back. AssinaJá does not give resources back: what has been delivered is not exchanged back for money, for credits, or for another resource.
| What you have | What does not happen |
|---|---|
| A plan’s period | Changing plan or not renewing mid-period does not refund the remaining days |
| Quota left at the end of the period | It is not paid back or turned into a pack |
| An unspent pack | It is not returned, not even when the plan ends |
| Credits topped up | They do not go back to the card |
The reason is the other side of the principle: if what was delivered is never lost, there is nothing to give back. Instead of a refund, the value keeps counting:
- the quota of a period you left mid-way moves to the new plan, until that period ends;
- a pack is spent until its 12 months, with or without a plan;
- credits stay in the account, with no time limit, for the next purchase.
That is also what makes the rules predictable: the balance you see under Resource Usage is what you have, and no later operation turns it into something else.
What is not a refund. When a document was debited but nobody was ever contacted — a send that failed during preparation —, the signatures go back to the balance. That is not a refund: it is the debit that is undone. Once anyone has been contacted, the debit stays, even if the document is cancelled, deleted, declined or expires. See Cancelling, declining or letting a document expire.
UNVERIFIED: the billing Status column can show Refunded, and the
application has no action that produces it. In which exceptional cases AssinaJá
refunds a purchase is still to be confirmed.
The rules, one sentence each
Section titled “The rules, one sentence each”- Nothing you paid for is lost mid-way. The quota lasts until the end of the paid period; each pack, until its 12 months.
- Whoever already received a document can always sign. The document was paid for when it went out, and the state of your plan does not close it.
- We do not give resources back — the value keeps counting. Changing plan mid-period does not give back the old period: the quota left over moves to the new plan until the old period ends.
- The debit belongs to the send. Once anyone has been contacted, cancelling, deleting, declining or letting the document expire gives nothing back; only a send where nobody was ever contacted undoes the debit.
- The plan’s quota belongs to the period. At the end of each period it starts again from zero, and what is left does not roll over — that is what a plan is. Packs do roll over.
